Description | The Sanitation Supervisor manages, supervises and coordinates activities associated with our Client's food safety and sanitation programs. This position is responsible for management of cleaning and sanitizing production areas, packaging areas, storage areas and production equipment in the manufacturing facility. The Sanitation Supervisor has oversight of the management of 3rd party sanitation team, and compliance with GMP’s, Good Safety Practices, sanitation policies and procedures. Company is a USDA frozen food plant. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS • Oversight of all plant sanitation operations, including management of a 3rd party sanitation crew. • Manages projects, works closely with management and production personnel on sanitation problem; recommending changes to improve sanitation policies, procedure, and cleaning effectiveness. • Develops and implements SSOPs, develops and trains sanitation employees. • Communicates and reports on trends/issues regarding inspections, sanitation deviations, root cause analysis . • Directs staff, assigns and schedules the cleaning and sanitization of tools, utensils, containers, equipment, storage and support areas (bathrooms, lunchroom, outside perimeter) in accordance with established Cleaning Procedures. • Understands chemical specifications and their effectiveness/proper application for different process/packaging equipment SSOP’s. Provide properly mixed chemical to the lines during production for sanitizing and cleaning as necessary. • Conducts scheduled sanitation validation audits including dismantling and inspecting critical processing and packaging equipment to ensure proper clean ability/sanitization. Requirements | • B.S in science field or Certified Sanitarian is preferred • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing plant and of sanitation supervisory experience is required • Knowledge in HACCP, Microbiology, Sanitation, Chemical Safety, Pest Control, and GFSI standards • Understands and complies with government regulations relating to OSHA, FDA, USDA, and EPA • Communication and coaching skills • Assertive professional manner • Self-Motivation • Leadership Skills • Excellent analytical and root cause analysis skills • Able to develop work instructions and documentation • Training skills • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point • Flexibility in work schedule, able to work periodically on a shift rotation |
