The Systems Engineer functions under broad supervision as a single point of contact for the acceptance

 and ownership of routine and complex end user problems, inquiries, and service requests; exercises initiative

 to resolve end user problems, inquiries, and service requests within process framework.

The Systems Engineer must be a team player who will share responsibilities for day to day operations of the

enterprise infrastructure, implementation and maintenance of server, storage and network services, and assist

with issues escalated from the service desk. The Systems Engineer will be expected to accomplish company goals

by accepting ownership for varying requests and exploring new opportunities to add value to the enterprise.

The ideal candidate will be disciplined, professional, passionate about technology and help drive the business

forward by engaging and applying new technology. The successful candidate will need to embrace new ideas,

technology, concepts and thrive on being a change agent.


Principal Responsibilities:


·          Develop and set priorities in a dynamic and fluid environment

·          Monitor and manage the enterprise environment

·          Understanding of the principles of IT governance models and IT service management

·          Infrastructure lifecycle management

·          Storage capacity management

·          Release and change management

·          IT security skills

·          An understanding of disaster recovery and redundancy principles and actions

·          Assisting and taking ownership of escalated issues from the service desk






Qualification & Technical Skills:


·          Minimum of 5-7 years as a Systems Engineer in a diverse environment

·          Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / MIS or related field or equivalent industry training required such as MCSE

·          ITIL Foundations certification

·          Understanding of the principles of IT governance models and IT service management

·          Capable of accomplishing company goals by accepting ownership for varying requests and exploring newopportunities to add value to the team

·          Must possess a strong “Customer Centric” mindset

·          Must be a catalyst and be self -motivated in creating new concepts to create efficiencies

·          Must be able multitask and set priorities in a dynamic and fluid environment

·          Proactive approach towards monitoring and managing the enterprise environment

·          Concise and thorough system documentation capabilities

·          Able to work within the confines of company’s security standards, process and procedure

·          Microsoft Windows 2012 and Windows Clustering/NLB, DNS, DHCP, CA

·          Active Directory including Group Policy

·          Powershell scripting and process automation

·          VMWare VSphere

·          Microsoft Exchange and Lync Server

·          Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager

·          Commvault Simpana

·          SAN storage technology, specifically EMC,FiberChannel, iSCSI

·          Microsoft SQL and SQL Clustering

·          Cisco networking, IOS, Catalyst OS, Layer-3 infrastructure, routing protocols

·          Cisco Unified Communications & VOIP

·          Checkpoint Firewall and VPN
